Twilight clouds.

I love to take pictures of clouds.   These two are from tonight, just before sunset.

What is family?

I just saw this on Twitter.

“Blood makes you related.  Loyalty makes you family.”

Faces, faces everywhere!

One of my favorite sites is Faces In Things, which is actually a Twitter account I follow.  Every day, people send in photos of things–anything at all–that looks like a face or even looks like something it isn’t.    If you are on Twitter, you should definitely follow this account.  You can actually scroll down to see other entries using the arrow on the right side of the embed.

I often look for faces when I’m lying in bed, half awake.  I’ll stare at the shadows and patterns in the curtains or up at the horrible popcorn ceiling and see faces there.   I know some people like to do this when they’ve been partaking in a certain weed too.  😉

But you don’t have to be half asleep or stoned to see faces everywhere.    I decided to go for a drive today and take pictures of all the faces I saw.    I hope you like them and my captions too.

I’m sorry if I offended you.

All cars have a face.  This one looked a little surprised to see me taking its picture.

This poor house looks so dejected. I think it needs a hug.

Here’s lookin’ at you, kid–with my new monacle!

Oh no, you again?  You’re gonna spit in my mouth again, aren’t you?

Morning glories.

My garden is starting to look pretty scraggly (as it always does at this point in the summer), but it’s redeemed a little by the morning glories, which are finally beginning to bloom.   I love the color–bright indigo with pinkish accents.

Due to the dry spring we had, the vine isn’t as bushy or the flowers as abundant as they have been in past summers, but it still looks really pretty.   The dead rhododendron that sits in my garden makes a great support for the vine.  Hopefully in another month or so it will be completely covered.   The daily thunderstorms we’ve been getting should help it along.

Seeing these flowers first thing every morning always makes my load feel a little bit lighter.

Storm approaching.

Ahhhhhhh….

This looks like the perfect antidote for this beastly hot day.

Painting therapy, Part II!

I finally finished my painting projects. Here are two views of my bedroom with its new look!

I also spray painted a old wooden table on the porch–it was bright green but the paint was chipping off so I had to redo it. There was enough spray paint left in the can for one more project.

I had an old glass doorknob (from this house but I can’t reattach it to the closet door it fell from). I think it’s an original doorknob–the house was built in 1908. I needed something on my bathroom wall, and decided to make a towel rack out of it. I took apart a wooden cigar box, painted it, and turned it into a sort of shadow box, with the doorknob epoxied to a mirror at the center. It’s drying now. I can’t wait to hang it in my bathroom!

Nothing like being a shaky, twitchy, anxious, paranoid, angry BPD/C-PTSD in full trigger mode, to get those creative juices flowing. Doing these things really helped me stay in the present and even almost sane.

Gone fishing!

So my son who lives on the Gulf Coast of Florida applied for his fishing license today. He has gotten into fishing in a big way thanks to a friend of his. They went fishing today in spite of somewhat unpleasant weather and my son just caught THIS!

He’s even going to take me fishing when I go visit him later this summer or in the early fall. I’m excited! He might get me “hooked.”

Some people like to read while on the toilet. Others prefer to be inundated by multiple confusing and contradictory reflections of themselves, repeating into infinity.

That way you can still work on the garden even if it’s raining.

Garden Chairs of Solitude are notoriously easy to offend. It’ll take a sincere apology to bring this one back to the table.
