If I write the memoir, think Running With Scissors by Augusten Burroughs. It was both tragic and one of the most hilarious books I ever read. I have to read it again. I just ordered a copy. I might review it in a future post.

I needed a change, so I changed the look of my blog today. I wouldn’t mind trying a new theme, but I’m afraid it might mess up the blog, so I’m afraid to try that.

Here was the look I had until today:

Below was my very first design. I didn’t have that many pages added in the header yet and no text in the graphic. 🙂
The Wayback Machine is a very cool site–it takes pictures of your site on random dates and saves them in its database. 🙂 It comes in very handy.

I just changed my header design by inserting the title within the painting itself instead of using the default heading that was above the painting before. I also deleted the stand-alone blurb/description of the blog (which I thought looked awkward and was too long); I shortened it and inserted it into the bottom of the photo. I’m not sure if the new design looks better or not, so I would like everyone to vote. Please be honest! If I get more votes that the previous design was better, then I will change it back.

ETA: I also added a tab in the green bar describing why I chose this painting for my header. I am also about to add a “Lighter Side of Narcissism” tab, because those of us who have suffered need a few laughs from time to time.

Ever have one of those days…

…where you just don’t feel like writing anything? I’m having one of them today. I’ve found they happen just after I write a “big” post about a major issue in my life. It’s as if I need a few days to decompress and get my creative mojo back. I feel guilty if I don’t write, so I’m posting this so at least I can say I wrote something.

I decided to add a poll to flesh this out a little more, plus I’m genuinely curious about other bloggers’ writing habits.
