I haven’t mentioned it, but for the past few weeks, I no longer seem to have the option to switch to the old WordPress editor. I’ve been forced to use the “beep beep boop” new editor, which I can’t stand. I’m really afraid WP might make the old stats page disappear too, which shows far more information and is easier to use (in my opinion) than the “new and improved” stats page.
Why does WP keep dumbing down the blogging experience, and taking away features that improve that experience for its users? I don’t know one person who prefers the “new and improved” versions of the editor and stats page.
What gives, WordPress?
I also noticed the StumbleUpon share button is no longer available. Why?
Here is my previous rant about these “new and improved” features. Judging by the comments, I’m not alone in my dissatisfaction and disgust.
Here is another one.
ETA: I finally found out what you must do to get to the Classic (old) editor.
Go to WP-Admin page.
Click on Posts–add New.
Too bad there’s no “switch to Classic editor” option anymore.
Apparently WP is dead set on forcing this “beep beep boop” editor on us in spite of an OVERWHELMING number of people disliking it.
Here is a screenshot of the poll asking what editor people preferred. Wow!

Please vote in this poll if you hate the new editor!

The old editor is still active. In the new editor, click the WP-Admin. Hope it works for you.

I’ll try it. There used to be a button that said “switch to old editor.”

I tried it and it didn’t work. If I click on WP-Admin, it just takes me to the dashboard and out of editor completely. 😦

I have to admit, I just adapted and I have gotten used to it.

I’ve gotten used to the new one, but still prefer the old for some things. Depending on the device I’m using, there doesn’t always seem to be an option to go back to the old one.
However if you start by going to a comment and choosing “edit”, it takes you right into the old editor, regardless of device.

Every time I see that “BBB” thing I want to smash something. It makes me mad.

In the spirit of truth in advertising, “Beep Beep Boop” should be renamed “Pee Pee Poop.”

I use this http://tampermonkey.net/ it is an extension for Chrome and android and what it does is …. loads the classic word press editor among other nifty things, and it works on quite a few other sites….. so for the last couple months, I’ve been blogging blissfully with the old editor , no more be boops for me I think it works on firefox too , not sure, I am a die hard Chrome user , anyways click that link up yonder and grab yourself a Tampermonkey and you will never see the new editor again , it’s really simple to set up 🙂

Thanks! I’ll vote if I can… I hate beep beep boop so much it makes me say “beep” every time. Thank god the old system works still in the admin panel. Life saver. Be sure to bookmark that page…

I tried it on my page, but it’s not working because my connection is so slow,
Tell me if this is the one and if it will work with you.

Here’s what I do: Hover your mouse over “My Sites” in the upper left corner, then click on “WP Admin,” and that will take you to the old dashboard, and you can work from there.
