Why is it so damn cold outside?

shining_snow

It’s the end of April and it might as well be early March. It’s cold enough I had to turn on the heat and wear a coat when I went out earlier.

I came home and put on my toe socks and burrowed under some blankets because I thought I was going to freeze to death.
Alright, maybe I’m exaggerating, but only a little!

    • Here it’s actually been warmer than average. There hasn’t been really any cold weather for over a month or more. But today is just…weird. Cold front or something. I could be coming down with something too. I’m feeling a little “under the weather.”

  1. I just showed my boyfriend your photo of Jack Nicholson in the Shinning. We almost died laughing…

We are watching the movie called the book of Eli and I turned a space heater on…cause we shut the furnace off for the season…

  2. I felt cold in New Mexico today, too. Turned a space heater on and my hubby complained he was hot. Whoever said that marriage is spending the rest of your life sleeping in a room that’s too cold, lying next to someone who is sleeping in a room that’s too hot, must have been talking about us.

I hope you aren’t coming down with something. Could it be the stress over what happened with your daughter? When I get super stressed, I often get physically sick soon after.

        • Then I guess they were all fighting in jungles because they all say they’re too hot all the time. What’s up with that? It must be their different chemistry or something. idk

            • Well…I turned the heater off because the room got to hot. A strange show was on TNT. There were 5 beautiful women stealing merchandise for this handsome narcisist manfrom a high end department store. One of them gets caught. Then they show a scene with 4 of the women sitting down at dinner with the man. They sit down to dine with this man after they hand him the stolen merchandize. He says…oh…Versace…and names some other high end brand names and says, “its so nice to eat dinner with our little family”. The family is 5 beautiful women to 1 guy. Then he asks about the 5th women. They confess and tell him that she got caught stealing. Then she knocks at the door frightened and crying,…” I’m so sorry…I didn’t follow your instructions,..I made a mistake”. All the sudden his good looking face turns into an ugly monster… And he eats her up…head and all.

He was a malignant narcissist… Monster!! Omg!!

            • Sorry guys. Didn’t mean to tell you’ll such a gruesome bedtime story.

I’d say goodnight, but I’m going to pull a Stanley Kubrick. Instead I’ll just say..RED RUM…RED RUM…RED RUM..

            • Lol.. here’s a horror story for you. A few hours ago my hubby and I moved a large roll top desk from one room to another, then we hung a 50 inch tv. We are in our 60s and we both have degenerative disc disease. Now at almost one in the morning we are in too much pain to sleep. Plus we realize that we have hung the tv way too high. Sheesh.

            • Yay – hubby and I successfully lowered the tv. No one was injured in the process. We even managed to hide the original holes in the wall with the sound bar. Now I just have to get used to having a working tv again… hard-of-hearing hubby likes it LOUD. (Where did I put my earplugs?)

            • Haha… right after we hung the tv yesterday and hooked it up to cable, my Marine hubby was looking through the channels and got all excited when he saw that Full Metal Jacket was playing. So I don’t see us cuddling in front of a movie any time soon.

    • My brother sat next to Jack Nicholson during a New York Yankee ball game in the box seats with a young boy. He said that no one bothered to talk to Jack Nicholson,..unlike most stars that most people smother for autographs. He claimed he looked creepy..just like the shining in the box office seats and he believed his look scares people away.

That classic photo is funny! And I’m a Stanley Kubrick fan. I remember going to watch Eyes Wide Shut when it was released in the movie theater. The boyfriend I had back then was ticked off at the movie because it was so weird. I was annoyed because I wanted to see the end of the movie. I mean,…honestly?? Who goes to a Stanley Kubrick movie and expects it not to be weird?? Obviously, it’s going to be weird. Lol

      • LOL I have never been able to look at Jack Nicholson again the same way after seeing “The Shining.” He’s a brilliant actor, and played that role almost too well–he seemed truly insane and psychopathic in the movie, and that has colored my view of him any time I see him in another role, even that of a nice guy. I know Nicholson is not a psychopath at all, but I can’t help seeing him as a little insane ever since his brilliantly acted role in “The Shining.”

          • I saw him in Terms of Endearment and he definitely came off … creepy. He played the neighbor astronaut who had the hots for Debra Winger’s mother lol. But he was creepy as fuck. I can’t tell if he actually had psychopathic or narc traits though.
