Babycat got back her looks!

I have posted about Babycat before. She’s my daughter’s favorite of our 5 kitties, and is a very affectionate and sweet cat. In my first post about her, I talked about her alopecia and possible skin allergies (probably due to the horrible case of fleas we had last summer). She wasn’t looking quite like herself, and her beautiful mane was gone and her fur was patchy.

Then she went through quite an ordeal when my daughter took her to live with her shortlived psychopathic ex, Paul. He made it very difficult for us to get her back, and placed her life in danger.

Babycat has been back with us for a few months and she looks so pretty again. all her fur has grown back. I also switched her from a diet of all dry food to canned food once a day, and I think that helps too.
Here are some photos I took of her this morning.

That’s Dexter standing there in the doorway. 🙂
One of the coolest things about Babycat (and one of the cutest too) is the fluffy and soft jet black toe tufts between her toes. She doesn’t mind at all when I massage her toe tufts.

  1. I love cats, and your babycat looks mischievous lol , I have a short haired tabby, she was a terror when she was younger, she is now 12 years old and sleeps most of the time.

    • Babycat is about 5 and she can be mischeivous and sometimes a can be a little mean to the other cats. She likes her space, just like I do. But she loves her people.

  2. She reminds me of Anna Valerious’ picture she has of her cat in her blog. “Plotter of World Domination.” I love long haired cats. My last cat who died last year was long haired. He was talky, and actually demand long conversations with you. I get the impression that long haired cats are like that. I don’t know what my cat died from. He passed on his own quietly through the night, he was only twelve.

    • Anna’s blog is great (she was so funny too), but I never saw her cat! I’ll have to go by there and look for it.
I wish she still blogged there. She did give some great advice and I read a lot of hers before I decided to start my own.

Babycat is a semi-longhair but she sheds very little. A couple of my shorthairs shed more than she does. And she’s very “chatty” too!

      • It’s on the home page on the left, just when you open her page. Anna’s blog is great, it was my “awakening” page where I first got my learning. I so want a chatty cat again.

          • I don’t know if you can make them chat. My cat I have now, will just jump on you instead. My chatty cat still had a sense of boundaries, he would chat but you better keep your distance.
My cat now has this tendency to “nurse”. That is, he acts like he is nursing on his mother. I had to give him his own pillow to do that with. Or else everything ends up in slobber. So, I guess every cat is different.
