Forest fires in western North Carolina

Seen on Facebook:

Please pray for us here in western North Carolina. The forest wildfires are all over the area with forced evacuations. At least 550 firefighters are battling thousands of acres of fire with less than 20% containment. These mountains are steep and dangerous and high winds are forecast for tomorrow and no rain forecast for another week. The United States Forest Service Incident Management Team is here now. For several miles in any direction from here its thick smoke and the sun has been red for days.

These fires are very close to where I live.  You can barely see the sun and the sky is red and the air smells like smoke.
I’ll be driving to Chapel Hill for a few days.   I’m leaving in about 15 minutes after I finish packing.
Please pray for my safe trip there, and also for an end to the wildfires here in western NC.   Thanks!

About luckyotter

This blog is my journal. I just choose to share it with the world instead of keeping everything inside my head. I'm a recovering Borderline and have also struggled with Avoidant Personality Disorder. I also have Complex PTSD due to having been the victim of narcissistic abuse for most of my life. I write mostly about narcissism, because I was the child of a narcissistic mother, and then married to a sociopathic malignant narcissist for 20 years. But there's a silver lining too. In some ways they taught me about myself. This blog is about all that. Not all my articles will be about NPD, BPD or other personality disorders or mental conditions. I pretty much write about whatever's on my mind at the moment. So there's something for everyone here. Blogging about stuff is crack for my soul. It's self therapy, and hopefully my insights and observations may help others too.

  4. I live here as well. I was on the road when the rock slide happened yesterday, caused by the fire. So tired of smoke! Thankful for all the outpouring of help being sent in. Good luck to you!!
