  1. Congratz! 🙂
I just thought I’d give you a link to something I wrote about the narcissist who drove me to the brink of insanity ages ago. He’s still in my life, from afar, and a certain discussion with him the other day reminded me that he really shouldn’t be in my life at all – it made me quite angry – and anyway:here’s the link if you ever get a minute (don’t feel obliged at all) 🙂

      • It’s only a short poem, I just thought it might be of interest to you, maybe 🙂
Congratz again, your posts have helped me get a deeper understanding into the very twisted relationship I had with a narc that I didn’t know was a narc at the time. I had never even heard of narcs when I was with him, I wish I had, it would have helped me get the hell out a lot quicker. Anyway, I guess what I’m saying in this long-winded way is: thank you 🙂

      • I saw your latest post come up just before and it just came to me then that you might be interested in reading this. Thank you for the kind words, you are of course welcome to reblog it if you like, I’m just not sure it’s that good – all I know is: it was quite therapeutic to write it 🙂

        • I have found writing to be incredibly therapeutic, maybe even more effective than actual therapy. I think your poem is good though. But the important thing is, writing it was cathartic for you. It does look like it resonated with a lot of people though. A lot of us can relate.

          • Writing has always been my way of coping with things, although after the relationship with the narc I also needed actual therapy – I was a wreck. As I said before, I wish I had known about NPD then, because at the time I genuinely thought I was losing my mind at times. You know, that feeling you have that you cannot be wrong, that things don’t add up, that he’s doing and saying things that are not right BUT every time you bring it up he manages to turn the situation around and calls you paranoid, too sensitive, crazy and my personal favourite: “you read too much into things”.
I think that’s the one thing I could never forgive him for, in a million years: making me doubt myself and my own judgement.
Anyway, I’m rambling on, sorry! 🙂

            • You’re fine! What he was doing was a practice called gaslighting–it’s one of the most destructive things malignant narcissists do. It’s truly crazymaking and can lead to PTSD in their victims. My ex was an expert at turning things around and projecting onto me his own craziness and even called ME the narcissist. And he used others, including my own kids, as flying monkeys and almost turned my own kids against me. He doesn’t understand and will NEVER understand how WRONG the nasty and cruel mindgames he was playing with me were. But in retrospect, I sure learned a whole lot.

            • To play those horrible mind games is so, so wrong. I just cannot understand they have no understanding of how wrong it is. My narc was SO convincing when he told me I was crazy, and overreacting, and too sensitive….SO convincing! It sounds like you had it much worse than me, no kids were involved in my case, thank God!

            • They do it because they need to project their own evil onto others. They can’t face it in themselves. They also attack the vulnerable because they both envy and fear our ability to SEE THROUGH their BS–and by gaslighting and playing other games with our minds they weaken us and that gives them control over us. There’s a LOT of information about gaslighting and all the other games narcs play — the most skilled ones are very subtle and you hardly know what’s happening until it’s too late. And sometimes they convince everyone else that THEY are the real victims and YOU are the abuser. If you ever saw the movie Gaslight, you will see this horrible practice in action, and that’s where the term gaslighting comes from. They convince us we are the crazy ones, and can actually drive us insane.

    • Well, welcome to the world of blogging! You just have to be patient. When I was blogging 5 days, I had less than you right now. In fact, I remember writing a rant about only having 12 followers, lol.
There’s a lot of things you can do to get more followers. I have some articles about this sort of thing (check under “The Art of Blogging” in the header), but I really recommend you read OM’s blog HarsH ReaLiTy. Jason has LOTS of stuff about how to increase visibility and gain followers, and his advice really WORKS!
      Here you go:

Make sure you follow him too, and he will follow you back. He follows everyone back, and he might even reblog an article of yours. He reblogged my rant about only having 12 followers (Here is the post I wrote, when I’d been blogging only 8 days). His doing that got me a lot more followers. He loves to help new bloggers.

Oh, I am following you now. Good luck!
