“Also a Fox” reviews the 12 worst songs of 2014 on “Radio Recall”

My son a/k/a Also A Fox, has a music video show called “Radio Recall.” This video, originally posted on his channel on Youtube but due to their draconian copyright infringement rules, had to be moved to Vimeo. When he did his 12 Worst Songs of 2013, they allowed THAT to stay up (it’s actually in 3 parts), but made him remove his 12 BEST songs to Vimeo. WHY?

Anyway, here are his picks for the 12 worst songs of 2014. From what I know of it, I think the music of 2014 was pretty horrific anyway, and I agree this list has about the most unlistenable songs I have ever heard, if you even call it music. Eh, maybe I’m just too old to like this stuff. But his funny remarks and cutaways make the video worth watching.

    • These songs really suck! Blargh. I hope his Top 12 is better. I know what one of them is already, and it’s a great song. I hope I agree with the others.

  2. I am totally disconnected from modern music. My music tastes end in 1990 but things have really gotten very bad. I noticed how faked and canned it all is and how it all sounds alike. Your son should explore some of those websites that warn about rock music and the messages they try to pass off in it. The powers that be wanted a dumbed down, oversexed and materialistic population. His video is good by the way.

    • He has very good taste in music, but I agree with you that most music made after the ’90s is crap. There is good stuff out there, but it’s like finding a diamond in a pile of shit. I have posted a few–one song I love from last year is “Safe and Sound” by Capital Cities. Great video, good music, and positive message.
      It seems music prior to the 2000’s had a lot more depth to it and there was more variety. It didn’t all sound alike and it didn’t all soujnd canned and overproduced. Of course there has always been bad music, but lately it’s off the charts in badness.
      My son likes a lot of 80s and 90s music, and he likes some new stuff but agrees most of it isn’t good. I can’t wait to see what his Best of 2014 songs are going to be.

      • If you go by these 12 pieces of dung, I wouldn’t doubt it. Remember though, these are songs he ranked low — some of them were popular though.

        I was astonished by how much narcissism is glorified in most of these–well, almost all of them. it’s a scary statement about the state of the world, or at least in the American entertainment industry, Even the hardest rock years ago was NEVER this narcissistic.
