I still need a few more guest bloggers.

UPDATE: Comments have been disabled.  Thanks to everyone who volunteered!

Yesterday I invited bloggers who write about mental illness or mental illness stigma to write a post for this blog.  In exchange I’ll write a post featuring all the bloggers who have chosen to participate, and share their finished posts to all my social media.

I’m doing this for two reasons: (1) I need fresh material for this blog; and (2) other people’s perspectives on mental illness and the stigma it carries can help raise awareness, much more so than I can do on my own.

So far I have six interested bloggers, but I need a few more.   This weekend I’ll be writing a post featuring the blogs of all those who chose to participate, which will help their traffic.

Here is the original post.  If you’re interested, please comment in the original post, with a link to your blog, and a short description of what you want to write about.

Mental illness writers: want to be a guest blogger and have me share your blog too?

  1. Reblogged this on Just Plain Ol' Vic and commented:
For those of us that blog about mental health issues, here is a great opportunity to get your story told and connect with a larger audience.

  2. I commented on your original post about this, offering to be a guest blogger. But I guess you are still not receiving any notifications of my comments? I may have to end my blog if WordPress doesn’t fix this.

  3. I think it’s wonderful that you do this. I’m tempted to jump into this project 😉 But I don’t think I should, because it’ll reach such a large public. I don’t think I can write well enough or that the stories are interesting enough. Maybe if you miss posts on a certain subject? I can write about narcisstic abuse, ptsd, depression, rape, stigma etc.

    • How about something about narcissistic abuse? I don’t think I have too many takers on that topic. I’ll let you know when you should start writing it up. I’m going to start working on a featured bloggers post probably tomorrow night.

      • Ok, let me know, I’ll think about it. There are a lot of aspects with this subjecr that could be written about. Maybe I can tackle my fear of failure on time to do this 😉 I’ll need to carefully plan it though, because personal posts can be very emotional and draining. But it’s for a good cause and maybe it’ll help me too.

    • Wait, your narc mother wants to write a guest post for this blog? 😮 Did I understand you correctly? Well. That could be an interesting, unique perspective!

  5. Didn’t word that correctly did I! my narc mother was a bitch, so arriving home from school was a crap shoot 😦 bets were on, would it be a good day, no always a bad mood day….. Sorry not such a unique perspective, but life was pure hell!

    • Narcs love to sweet everything under the rug. My parens couldn’t tolerate anything less than perfection–in anything! They’d deny or ignore problems as if they didn’t exist. They’d talk about “being positive” but to them, it was just a denial of reality.
