I haven’t blogged for the past two days because my daughter was in a car accident yesterday. She is fine, but the car was totalled. I’ve been too overwhelmed to blog about anything, but tomorrow I’ll post the entire story.
It will be my 50th post. I’ve been blogging for one month, so that’s about two posts a day on average.
ETA: I just added a photo of her car (actually my car) and the damage done to it by a Hyundai SUV driven by an 80 year old with no license. He failed to yield and smashed into her front end. In the background you can see his vehicle, with a small dent on the left front end. At least she is okay. It could have been much worse.
Actually I think I’ve written enough already about this (what more is there to say?), and tomorrow’s post is going to be about something else.
You can see more detail by clicking on the photo.

I’m so sorry to hear about the accident, but glad she’s OK. Cars can be replaced.

Sorry to hear about the accident. The important thing is your daughter is okay. A car can always be replaced.
Remember, don’t let this have any power over you, after all it is just an event.

It’s really nice getting so much support here…sometimes i feel like there is more support from you all than from the people irl. The stress I feel right now is nearly overwhelming and it never seems to end. Writing about it though helps, and I feel like my spiritual home is on the internet not irl. It’s much easier for me to “talk: to people online, even strangers, than face to face. I guess that’s the aspieness and the AvPD. Online friends, even those you never met, are every bit as valid as the irl kind. The internet has been a huge benefit to people with aspergers, autism, PTSD, plain old shyness, and other disorders that cause them to avoid face to face contact with people.
i might write a post about this tomorrow. 🙂
Thanks everyone!

I just added a photo of the car (a Honda accord) after the Hyundai SUV came out of nowhere and failed to yield, smashing into the front end. If it weren’t for the airbag and seatbelt, things could have been a lot worse.

The guy who caused the accident was 80 years old and did not have a drivers licence (for that matter, my daughter didn’t either and was not supposed to be driving this car, which is in my name), but the accident was not her fault. I am not sure if my insurance will cover this accident or not but they might. I hope so.

Yup. It’s totalled. That’s my unprofessional opinion, but I’m purty dang sure I’m right. So sorry! I’m glad your daughter is okay though, and I really hope it gets covered by insurance. Shouldn’t his insurance be covering it?

Probably, but given that she was also driving without a licence could be a huge problem…I have to talk to the claims adjuster but there may be some reimbursement. This was going to be her car once she got her license reinstated. I’m glad she’s okay but as horrible as it sounds, maybe it’s a good thing this happened. She won’t be able to drive illegally anymore. She’s going to urgent care tomorrow to be seen by a dr. , she says her back hurts and if an injury can be proven the chances iof getting reimbursed may be better.
