    • lmao I think people are overreacting. It’s an isolated diagnosis in Texas (maybe there’s one other person now infected, but not sure) and it’s not airborne (although ebola mutates fast so it could become so, but I won’t go there) but everyone is freaking out and if they start developing cold symptoms they think they might have ebola. Rabies is a lot worse and a lot easier to get, and is 100% fatal (except for three kids cured from it using an artificial coma brought about by ketamine–which shut down the brain to allow it to heal from the infection) while Ebola is deadly but not 100% fatal.

But Ebola is one of those news events people get all excited about because it COULD happen to them. It makes the boring lives of so many Americans just a little more interesting, even if they have to imagine they have it themselves. it’s sad.

I’m not dismissing the seriousness of the matter or its possible impliactions, but there’s definitely some overreation going on.

      • I pretty much agree. I also think the media makes it worse too because although reporters and news anchors are supposed to keep their emotions out of their reporting they don’t. So they transfer the fear and anger to the gullible public.

I’m sure our immune systems as a society are not working as well as they should be given our diets and stress…including those of us who were abused so that would certainly be reason to worry or fear it too.

But my thing is that I know the news is full of lies and fear mongering so instead of trying to figure out what’s true and what’s not anymore, I ignore the bulk of it.

Besides news from either side can be really triggering for me. I generally get my news from Jon Stewart and Colbert. Lol.

  1. Most news today is so sensationalistic. It promotes fear and panic in an already overly stressed out world. Stewart and Colbert are good. I remember back when I was a kid the news was just given in a matter of fact and less emotional (but also less entertaining) manner. It wasn’t as interesting maybe, but it didn’t create too much added stress. A lot of what we hear today is exaggerated. You can’t believe everything you hear on the “news.” I don’t even watch the news anymore because it’s too triggering for me.
