    • I have heard the same. They’ve been popular in Europe and Japan for decades, not sure why they never caught on here until now. Certainly a more environmentally friendly alternative, and probably cleaner too.

    • I actually just bought a couple online–can’t wait for them to show up so I can install them. They were the most affordable ones I could find and look easy to install, thank goodness. I’m not worried about running out of toilet paper, but rather, I have been trying to curb my paper waste use for a while. After enough articles understanding how bidets work, I decided to take the plunge, so to speak. I have a feeling it’s gonna be weird to get used to, but knowing it’s gonna be a more hygienic option in the long run, I’m all for it

      Besides, it’ll be funny as hell to hear mom shriek in surprise when she comes over in a few months and either accidentally turns it on or tries it out (hee hee).

    • what surprises me is there’s still a run on toilet paper. It’s slowed down a bit, but also the stores near me are getting shorted orders, so that’s contributing. My theory is the continuation stems from the people who the last few times have only managed to get the tiniest packages because all the big ones were hauled off by the other folks that got there first, so they keep going back for more, hoping for a big package or two.

      • I notice toilet paper, paper towels, and ground beef missing. Bread has returned thank goodness. Our stores have limits of 1 on everything that was hoarded. I check whenever I do the family errands. Today, Target had three big packs of tp! Guess who bought one😉 We have six people in our home….

      • I read an article (sorry, don’t have the link) that says there’s another reason. Because people aren’t going to work or school, and spending all their time at home, the consumer TP market is skyrocketing. The institutional TP market used by businesses and schools is different than the consumer market. Their cheaper stuff is just sitting in warehouses.

        • oh yeah, I read that one too, recently. It makes sense, because if you’re at work all the time, how the heck are you using up your toilet paper at home? Of course, that doesn’t bother me so much because I actually go to Office Depot online and get a big wrap-bag or case full of the rolls most offices use (the small ones). It’s cheaper that way and because it’s single-ply (most of the time), I know it’s septic safe. Costs me $25 or less and because it’s just me. it lasts nearly a year. I’m probably gonna be lending some out in the next few weeks if this trend keeps going.

          • I actually prefer the one ply. I usually buy Scotts or a knockoff brand. And yes, it is better for your septic system. I don’t need my TP to feel like a pillow.
