David Cassidy was a childhood icon and one of my favorite TV and music stars when I was about 12 and 13. In the early 1970s, he was a huge teen idol (just look at that face — how could he not be?).
The Partridge Family was one of my favorite TV shows. Hearing about his death today certainly didn’t help my mood. 67 is too young!
Rest in Peace, David. You brought so much joy to so many people.
A little photographic tribute:
My first crush. RIP

I was a bit past the teen idol age to get very excited about The Partridge Family, but David is well remembered. My crush there would have been Shirley Jones.

I think, if I’m not mistaken, there was something going on between Shirley Jones and Cassidy. Or maybe I’m thinking of Greg from the Brady Bunch and Florence Henderson (who played his mom).

I think it was Greg and Florence – it was mentioned in a interview of her about her memoir. If I remember right Shirley actually was David’s step-mom.

Thanks for clearing that up.

So sad. R.I.P. David. I remember watching the Partridge Family when it first aired.
