Now is the time to take a stand.

The lyrics to this classic rock song by The Byrds are the words of Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8  set to music.

3 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

This was intended as an anti-war song during the Vietnam years, but now is not the time for Americans to expect peace.       The sixties seem like a vastly happier and simpler time during these dark days.    So do the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Hell, even the first decade of the 2000s seem like a simpler time in comparison to now.

I have no idea what is going to happen, or if we can come out of this in one piece as a nation, but hiding our heads in the sand not the answer.  We have been apathetic and complacent for way too long and it’s come to this.  Our freedom and the Constitution itself is at stake, not to mention the safety of civilization and the planet.   We must take a stand because hiding from it isn’t going to make it go away.   Putting an end to the reign of this control freak demagogue and his minions is our patriotic duty.    Nine days in and he’s done untold damage already.   The protests taking place in all the large airports and the court ruling that the Muslim detainees be freed give me hope.   Maybe there are still a few checks and balances to keep this monster at bay.

I think a mental health evaluation (with results made publicly available) should be a requirement for all incoming presidents.    I cannot believe the things that come out of his mouth.  The man is clearly a malignant narcissist who cares only about his ego and nothing more.

  1. Trump is far from the problem. The problem is totally proven to everyone that the indoctrination and dangerous ideas the mainstream liberal agenda has established where doing your own thing outweighs doing the right thing to the ruination of our society. Most people are not like those portrayed on television or movies. They are making the young and impressionable imitate this krap to all of our detriment. No one has any right to scream that others “do what they want” and expect that anyone in their right mind will take them seriously anymore than I would tolerate a three year old screaming because I took a book of matches away from him. Just because your government allows something, does that make it right or moral all of a sudden? Of course not. Liberals are very mentally ill. They are as a group, intolerant, illogical, mean-spirited, selfish and anyone who can’t see their total hypocrisy is spiritually blind. Trump is not the problem. Our media, the socialists that lie to the people are the problem because when reality hits them in the face, which it always does, they hate it.

  2. I am still wondering why a mental health evaluation is “not” required before assuming office of the presidency. It doesn’t make any sense to me.

    Prerequisite mental health screening and evaluation is required for all those receiving high level security clearances. Is the presidency different, because the president, although possessing the highest security clearance, remains a civilian?

    Yet, if impeachment is indicated for anyone “unfit” for office, how then would “unfitness” be determined?

    And what really gets to me ( along with all the other absurdities our culture has suddenly swallowed) is how Trump’s team got away with pointing to the personal opinion of his general practice physician in reference only – to his physical (not mental) health.

    This was not a psyche eval, but we can “pretend” it was one.

    For God’s sake America – wake up.

    • Mental health evaluations are required for far lesser positions. Why not for the highest position in the world, where its holder has the power to literally blow up the world?

      • I have a low level security clearance myself, but technically I do not work for the state or any government agency. I work for a person.

        My boss is high level, and did his own eval.

        I am wondering if the president is exempt due to some such technicality of office – like “he’s the president – not an Intelligence agent.”

        Do we not have any mental health checks and balances that prevent despots from reigning?

    • And did you know by law, general practice physicians cannot state a person is a danger to themselves or others, unless they directly and specifically threaten to harm themselves or others in front of the physician?

      We are so screwed…

        • I think the Christian “right” WAS long suffering, ignored, stereotyped and abused by media elites and powerful “liberal” politicians.

          This is one of the reasons why they chose to overlook their own “standards” of decency so obvious in Trump’s words and behaviors.

          I know I will get verbally stoned to death in many venues for saying this, but it is like they sold their souls to the devil (throwing their own women and certain “unwanted” “less than us” ethnicities under the bus) just to finally “get even” with the wicked witch.

          Barbarianism was embraced and justified as a valid method of choice.

          • Doesn’t the Bible say in the last days the majority will be deceived?
            They blithely support a man who stated he doesn’t need God’s forgiveness, worships money (after himself), was married and divorced 3 times and has children by 3 different wives, says he’d date his own daughter, has groped women’s private parts and bragged about it, and owns gambling casinos — but they condemn a woman who has faithfully stayed married to the same man even after he cheated on her. Their hypocrisy knows no bounds.

              More – while their hypocrisy does indeed have no limit – I ***strongly*** suspect most people who voted for ‘glorious Leader’ had a ***very*** good idea as to who he in truth was.

              They were NOT deluded. No, this is precisely the ‘priest, king and god’ so many have (covertly) yearned for. Yes, I do mean a large percentage of church-goers desired someone like him – who ***will*** buy uncritically whatever he and his will ***deign*** to sell them – and that without quibbling about the price…

        • I will never forget the pain and hurt I felt when I politely proved to two “church” lady friends that Trump was a liar, and had a seriously dangerous personality disorder.

          They pointed their fingers at me saying if I thought that it could only be because I was simultaneously just a “cry baby” and a “man” like Hillary.
