“So I work at the EPA and yeah it’s as bad as you are hearing: The entire agency is under lockdown, the website, facebook, twitter, you name it is static and can’t be updated. All reports, findings, permits and studies are frozen and not to be released. No presentations or meetings with outside groups are to be scheduled.
Any Press contacting us are to be directed to the Press Office which is also silenced and will give no response.
All grants and contracts are frozen from the contractors working on Superfund sites to grad school students working on their thesis.
We are still doing our work, writing reports, doing cancer modeling for pesticides hoping that this is temporary and we will be able to serve the public soon. But many of us are worried about an ideologically-fueled purging and if you use any federal data I advise you gather what you can now.
We have been told the website is being reworked to reflect the new administration’s policy.
Feel free to copy and paste, you all pay for the government and you should know what’s going on. I am posting this as a fellow citizen and not in any sort of official capacity.”

  2. Reblogged this on Cyranny's cove and commented:
I am not American and I have my head way too far up my own… business these days to know exactly what this is about, but if my partner from Lucky Otter’s Haven & Madame Suze are spreading the news, it must be very serious… I don’t trust the Internets, but I do trust these ladies!

  4. I fashioned a “reblog” with Press This, adding a few political cartoons, a bit of content at the end (as well as a few links to some sites that probably HAVE fact checked, btw), and an intro up front. Thanks for sounding the alarm. Gotta’ pass it on.

      • There is – doesn’t work for many of my original [neurodiverse] readers, however.

They don’t get enough from the WordPress function to whet their appetites, encouraging them to click to read more – and many can’t stay tracked through the double-jumping (sometimes more when folks reblog reblogs).

AND most need formatting to focus their reading for cognition — possible only with Press This.

It’s a distraction/focus thing. Press This works, reblog doesn’t. I make SURE to acknowledge and link. Can’t reblog, tho’.

If you’d rather I didn’t in the future, I will certainly respect that, but this one is already out there (and important, I believe) – so please accept my apologies if I misunderstood the intention of your plea. Let me know.

        • No, I don’t mind at all. I was just worried you couldn’t find the reblog button because my sharing buttons have been acting strange lately. Have no idea why.
          Have a great day. 🙂

          • Thanks. TMI – lol – I always seem to err on that side. 🙂 Yeah – the Gremlins “improve” the platform and it gets screwy. Reblog buttons often seem to be casualties on more blogs than yours! (I’m told on mine as well.)

btw- Reactions on my site mostly “pro” and relatively generic (i.e, not referencing many points in either article, etc.)

Only one not pro, which was strange to me, but relatively respectful. Hope he feels I was respectful in my response.
