So. Trump won.

11chappatte-master768-v2

Although it’s not official yet, Trump is the projected winner.

I have never been so ashamed of my country as I am right now.   I thought maybe…just maybe…the tides were turning and people wouldn’t be swayed by this egotistical, dangerous, racist, sexist, homophobic narcissistic freak.   I apologize for my harsh words if you voted for him, and hold nothing against you personally, but that’s how I feel right now.  I don’t understand why or how this happened.   I’m saddened and shocked and angry beyond belief.    I feel like I’m  in a nightmare that won’t end, and there’s no escape.  I read that the website for immigration to Canada crashed because of the volume of hits tonight.   I wish I could be one of those people with the means to leave this once-great country because there is nothing left as far as I’m concerned.  It’s heartbreaking to see its long fall from the land of opportunity and freedom it used to be.

He has the potential to do untold damage to a country that is already in deep, deep trouble, not to mention the millions of women, blacks, Hispanics, Muslim-Americans, and anyone else who is vulnerable.  I’m very scared.   I know many of you are too.

Suicide hotlines are actually being shared on social media right now, because a lot of people want to kill themselves with Trump as president elect.

On the bright side, California has legalized pot.  They’re going to need it.  Pardon the gallows humor, but yeah.

That’s all I have to say right now.   So, try to get a good night’s sleep and I’ll see you tomorrow.

I’m sorry for writing such a negative post, but I am just…astounded.

One last thing.  I will never, ever, refer to this freak as President.

  2. Reblogged with this note:

I hope that checks and balances will keep us away from nuclear war with the rest of the world, but with a Republican House and Senate, I have little hope for anything else. Remember all these wonderful gains we’ve had in civil and other rights the last few years? Yeah, prepare to see it all go away. Along with any respect from the rest of the world. Keep in mind that Russia seems to have wanted Trump president so they could keep him under their thumb.

    • You know what? That wall Trump wants to build? I don’t think he’ll have to worry about Mexicans jumping the border into the US, I think it’s more likely people here will be trying to flee to Mexico, which is looking better and better in comparison. We’re going the way of the Roman Empire, another great nation that fell under its own hubris, greed and narcissism. And that one lasted longer than this one did. I don’t think there’s enough checks and balances anymore either. We’ll see. He’s completely unqualified and maybe he won’t be able to get anything done and will just be another one term president.

  3. So… the Whitehouse is for sale and the one with the deepest pockets bought it.

I voted Libertarian for the first time in my life. In a state where Clinton won.

Well, the good news is that it’s only four years. Not the rest of his life, like it is for royalty. Meanwhile, I am clinging to what Christ said: “In the world you will have tribulations. But be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

  4. to be ashamed of the country, in my opinion, includes shame for the 50% that voted for Clinton. personally, i’m still proud of a country that allows all citizens to vote. i just hope we haven’t become so divided we can never become whole.

  5. Ok, I hope everybody reading this is tolerant towards people whose thoughts and opinions differ from their own…

I think we should give him a chance, as flawed as he is. It’s in everybody’s best interest that he realize the gravity of his position, settle down, and bring us together. It’s possible he could realize the weight of it and just do the right thing- I hope so. I hope he does well.

And God is still in control, this didn’t catch him by surprise.

I think there IS some hope for his presidency because he IS very driven to succeed at whatever he does, and he IS willing to compromise / “deal” (The Art of the Deal) with others, and he’s not a strict idealogue. Perhaps he could unite us more than we think- or at least get some good things done more than we think.

If he goes berzerk and starts to try to round people up on a mass scale or does something else crazy, the democrats and enough republicans will not hesitate to impeach him. They don’t much like him and it’s their right to impeach him for any reason, it’s just a vote.

Lot’s of good leaders have been very narcissistic; JFK, FDR, Bill Clinton, Winston Churchill and others:

If he IS really malignant and vindictive, that would of course be bad. And there is some evidence of that. Hopefully he’s just defensive about his small hands and the like, and can get past that.

    We’ll see.

      • That’s about as much as can be expected.

Sorry you’re so bummed out about it.

It sucks to feel like your county has lost its compass and is hurtling in the wrong direction. It’s like your not at home in your own country.

I guess we should realize it’s always been God’s creation and always will be and he does have a good plan no matter what’s going on.

  6. At the moment it hasn’t started, January will see him sworn in but don’t be surprised when elections are outlawed, senate and representatives sent packing because they stop him from playing with his wall. Adolf is back but this time he has nukes to play with. Stand by for Russia and America standing side by side against every other country.

  7. Regarding ‘wall construction’:

Article 58 -> gulag prisoners as forced laborers.

So what (according to Dugashvili) if some die. The secret-state-police / committee of state security will be issued larger quotas, and the ranks of ‘zeks’ will be replenished in good time.
