This is actually really sad. Not only because the guy died, but because it took five days for anyone to even notice. But still…it’s funny. I couldn’t help laughing.
I’m sorry, I can’t seem to help myself, but I am a skeptic when it comes to things like this. Maybe it’s because I grew up in Missouri, the Show-Me state? Anyway, I did a search, and according to Snopes and Urban Legends, this story is false: http://www.snopes.com/horrors/gruesome/fivedays.asp
When I first read this post, I did believe it. But later, as I was telling my stepdaughter the story, it occurred to me that this might be one of those urban legends.
With the computerized photo retouching and graphic design programs available these days, you can make anything seem real. It wouldn’t be hard at all to make something like this fake newspaper clipping, and post it online as fact.
I may be more aware of this than most, because one of my hobbies is graphic design. 🙂
Hmm, I’m stifling a giggle. Wow, that’s terrible.

That’s what I said. “Oh, that’s so sad!” holding back laughter.

It is actually really sad. The last line in the story is the clincher, though. lol.

It’s strange that no one said good morning or goodbye to him for 5 days?! And no one commented on the smell? Glad I don’t work there!

I was thinking about the smell too. Also why no one bothered checking on his work.

When I’m dead and gone, no one will ever say I worked too hard. In fact, they’ll probably say, “He should have gotten off his ass once in awhile.”

I think they’ll say the same thing about me. Of course, to my N mother, I’m a “loser” and poor because I “deserve to be.”

I’m not surprised. It is rather hard to believe.

It does sound suspiciously like an urban legend.
